Job Summary: The Payroll Administer is responsible for full-cycle payroll processing for all employees ensuring that employees are paid accurately and timely.
Ensures compliance with all local, federal, and state payroll, benefits regulations relating to employee payroll.
Works with the Human Resources team to support company benefits programs including deductions, tracking and compliance.
Works cross-functionally to support company goals and strategies outside of Accounting.
Responsibilities Timely input of accurate payroll information and distribution of payroll checks.
Processing and managing multiple payroll activities with bi-weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual deadlines.
Process Weekly, Bi-weekly, and K1 Payrolls as well as related pay statements.
Transfer Time and Attendance data from ERP.
Prepare and upload to ADP for Payroll processing.
Audits payroll information for accuracy.
Reconciles payroll deposits, tax withholdings, wage garnishments, and voluntary deductions.
Participates in problem solving and special projects within the Payroll Department.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of city, state, provincial, local, and federal legislation affecting payroll.
Coordinate payroll processing with an outside vendor (ADP) Calculate, process, and record all Certified Payrolls weekly.
Complete required Payroll Reporting for Internal and Federal purposes Sign up and train users in ADP and Time tracking software (Shop-Trak).
Train employees / supervisors how to use ADP Time and Attendance or Shop-trak as needed.
Enter labor and time corrections across all platforms.
Act as liaison to internal departments; providing guidance, building relationships, and resolving escalated issues.
Respond to employee payroll questions and issues, providing excellent customer service.
Ensure payroll issues are escalated and resolved promptly.
Balancing quarterly and annual tax reports for year-end statements.
Verify set up of new earnings and deduction codes for related taxability and W2 reporting requirements.
Process Final Paychecks and Prorated Pay per state guidelines.
Enter 401K Deferrals and changes into ADP.
Enter all wage garnishments and retro-benefit deductions.
Create, document and continuously improve practices and procedures.
Create and record payroll JEs to the General Ledger Other ad hoc finance and accounting functions as needed.
Preferred Skills/Experience Must be energetic, helpful, have great people skills, and be able to multi-task.
Strong working knowledge of payroll legislation and processes.
Strong knowledge of compliance for quarterly and annual reporting requirements related to taxes and benefits.
Strong MS Office skills and excellent Excel knowledge.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
High attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to multitask, prioritize and meet deadlines.
Maintain employee confidence and protect payroll operations by keeping information confidential.
Proactive and committed to continual improvement.
Demonstrated problem solving, systems and method improvement skills.
Actively shows initiative and adapts to a rapidly changing work environment.

Education And Experience Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) preferred.
7+ years’ payroll experience, small to mid-sized companies.
Prior experience with ERP systems and ADP a plus.
Salary is commensurate with experience and education.
