Starcorr Sheets, an affiliate of Schwarz Partners, and corrugated manufacturing industry leader currently has an exciting opportunity available for an Staff Accountant in Temple, TX.
The Staff Accountant is responsible for maintaining, recording and processing the general ledger, fixed assets, debt analysis, payroll, and accounts payables and receivables.
The Staff Accountant also participates in the monthly closing process and assists in preparation of financial statements, annual financial audit and inventory.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS FOR THIS POSITION:
• Handle customer invoicing tasks including generating invoices by customer within electronic system; verifying customer pricing and invoices; obtaining necessary approvals; posting invoices timely; and scheduling payments based on company established schedules.
• Maintain all customer files and accounts by updating price sheets as directed by the Controller; issuing customer credits; and receiving, applying and posting deposited checks and credits from customers.
• Generate AR aging report, analyze past due accounts and update daily Scoreboard and submit reports to Controller based on established schedules or upon request.
• Track daily sales and credit information to reconcile to General Ledger at end of the month.
• Coordinate with appropriate contacts to track accounting related documents.
• Assist in the reconciliation and maintenance of the fixed asset reports and keep the Controller informed regularly.
• Process weekly and bi-weekly payroll; reconcile and validate time cards through company’s electronic payroll system and obtain appropriate approvals prior processing of payroll.
• Establish check and balance to ensure accuracy of payroll prior transmittal to payroll vendor; complete process from start to finish, download and upload.
• Verify yearly W2 forms.
• Regular and predictable attendance.
REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
• Bachelor’s degree with concentration in Accounting.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience as an accountant and 3 years’ experience in automated payroll.
• Knowledge of Texas wage and hour laws.
REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES:
• Proficient in Microsoft office and other accounting system programs; advanced level in Excel.
• Ability to type at reasonable speed; 10-key by touch.
• Excellent communication skills both verbally and written.
• Detail oriented demonstrating high degree of accuracy; well-organized.
• Ability to work independently with minimal or without supervision.
