Primary Purpose: Performs moderately complex accounting work.
Assists in the preparation of financial statements, records, documents, and reports.
Provides accounting work such as federal funds accounting, property and equipment control, cost, and budgeting.
Assist with the development and maintenance of the annual budget.
May liaison with fiscal agents or contractors for financial concerns and issues.
May assist with the procurement of facilities, supplies, facility services, and other contracts as needed to support the infrastructure of service delivery.
Location: Flexible/Remote Work Possible Qualifications: Education/Certification: Experience in accounting and financial operations.
Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in accounting, finance, or a related field is generally preferred.
Experience and education may be substituted for one another.
Special Knowledge/Skills: Familiar with generally accepted budgetary and fiscal accountability processes.
Minimum of 3 years experience in accounting and financial operations Able to organize work, manage time and projects, and meet deadlines.
Work effectively with peers, contractors, and financial professionals.
Working knowledge of the interaction of financial accounting and computerized accounting systems Manage multiple tasks, work independently, and demonstrate initiative in handling difficult situations.
Major Responsibilities: 1.
Assists in the preparation of financial statements, reports, schedules, and exhibits 2.
Maintains systems and controls necessary to provide accurate accounts of expenditures and budget balances for workforce grants 3.
Process journal entries and processes payment, purchase orders, travel, and related documents 4.
Classifies, codes, posts, and balances financial and accounting documents and records.
5.
Assist with the development and maintenance of contract documents and other fiscal-related files 6.
Ensuring that grants are administered in accordance with grant provisions, reporting, and regulatory requirements.
7.
Prepares periodic analysis of fund balances and expenditures and prepares technical reports on estimates, cost data, and budget items.
8.
Assist with other accounting tasks and reconciliations as assigned 9.
Assists with Special Projects and Initiatives Supervisory Responsibilities: None Equipment/Specialized Software Used: PC/Windows, Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), fax, copier, various printers Working Conditions (Mental Demands): Manage multiple tasks and work cooperatively with others.
Maintain a calm attitude in demanding situations.
Make changes and adapt to varying responsibilities on an ongoing basis.
Work with frequent interruptions, tight deadlines, and limited office space Working Conditions (Physical Demands/Environmental Factors): Occasional light lifting and transporting equipment.
Occasional travel within the region when appropriate Able to adjust to climate change.
