*Infant Caregiver Job Description*
*General Description of the Job:*
As an Infant Caregiver, you will play a crucial role in meeting the physical, emotional, and developmental needs of each infant under your care.
Your responsibilities will extend to creating a safe and stimulating environment, where you will be performing activities that stimulate the health, safety, and progress of each infant.
This role requires a compassionate approach, an understanding of childcare licensing standards, and a commitment to fostering a safe and healthy environment for each infant.
*Job Duties:*
* Prepare meals according to instructions provided by parents.
* Feed infants on a predefined schedule and guide them to feed themselves when appropriate.
* Change diapers according to childcare licensing minimum standards.
* Wash infants' hands after diapering, outside time, before feeding, or after contact with bodily fluids.
* Introduce infants to activities and toys aimed at physical and cognitive development.
* Implement Age-appropriate Curriculum (Frog Street) to support educational milestones.
* Manage infants' social, emotional, and physical needs.
* Rock and verbally comfort infants when they are agitated.
* Talk to infants to facilitate relationship building.
* Ensure all toys are clean and safe by daily sanitizing.
* Always arrange stations for active supervision.
* Participate in and be familiar with emergency drills.
* Maintain daily records and reports for each infant.
* Communicate with parents or guardians regarding infants' progress or problems.
* Observe and report any significant behavioral patterns to parents.
* Effectively communicate with parents to ensure a constant supply of diapers and other baby products.
* Clean the infant room at the end of each day, including sweeping, mopping, sanitizing, and taking out trash.
* Attend all staff meetings and recommended training programs/conferences.
*Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:*
* Knowledge and experience of working with infants ages 0-18 months.
* Understanding quick reactions and movements to ensure child safety.
* Knowledge of common childhood illnesses.
* Skills in patience, time management, and remaining calm under pressure.
* Ability to be flexible with infant/child routines and manage working with different age groups.
* Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with co-workers and parents/guardians.
* Physical ability to lift, push, and carry 40 lbs.

* Ability to work in various environments, both indoors and outdoors, with noise tolerance.
*Qualifications:*
* Minimum age of 18.
* High school diploma, equivalent, or a certificate of coursework completion.
* Meet all state and local licensing requirements for child caregivers.
*Compensation:*
Starting pay for any candidates with no prior childcare experience is $12.
25/hr.
Starting pay for any candidate with 1+ years of childcare experience is $12.
75/hr.
