Classification: Part Time, Non-exempt (10-20 hours a week)
Reports To: Childcare Coordinator
Description: The Child Care Helper is an integral part of Care Net's childcare team that provides loving, compassionate supervision and care for children 0-6 (and in the summer months 0-11) at the Support Site.
Qualifications/Background:
Be aligned with the vision and mission of Care Net Pregnancy Center and be in full agreement with Care Net's Principles, Purpose and Faith Statment and the Mission and Values Statement.
Minimum of High school diploma or GED
At least 1 year experience in childcare setting
Highly organized, self-motivated, dependable, responsible, and able to work independently and calmly in an often highly emotional environment
Confident communicator and problem solver
Have faith in God and have accepted salvation through His son, Jesus Christ; daily living in a relationship with God that would be evident in your life, through word and deed
Regularly attend church
CPR certified (or willing to obtain certification as part of onboarding process)
Trained in Texas Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting (or willing to complete training as part of onboarding process)
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift and carry 40+ pounds up to waist high level.
Must be able to bend, stoop, crawl, walk, reach, climb on a step stool or ladder, and be sedentary or stand 50% of the time
Must be able to hear, see, and speak in order to communicate with clients efficiently
Duties:
Collaborate with team members to execute daily curriculum provided by the Childcare Coordinator.
Assist with sign in/out for children in childcare.
Observe and monitor children's play activities.
Support children's emotion and social development and encourage understanding of others and positive self-concepts.
Maintain a safe and orderly play environment by keeping toys, equipment, and play areas organized and clean/disenfected.
Assist in feeding, diapering, and dressing children as required.
