Job Responsibilities:
This is an entry-level, professional developer who executes programming tasks cleanly and efficiently while keeping team members and stakeholders informed.
Candidates succeed by writing clean, effective code, cooperating with the team and stakeholders, and seeking guidance from seasoned developers.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND AUTHORITY
Position Responsibilities:
Write, test, document, debug, and maintain computer programs under the mentorship of experienced developers.
Execute basic specifications as detailed by other team members and project stakeholders.
Design simple application components.
Write clean, well-documented and well-performing code.
Troubleshoot application program malfunctions.
Estimate task effort and build work breakdowns of tasks.
Follow established practices for project tracking and code quality.
Conduct demonstrations of code for team members and stakeholders at a basic level.
Provide production support whenever needed, including log analysis.
Basic use of a version control system.
Construct, build, and deploy pipelines for senior team members to evaluate.
Other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications:
At least one of the following:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited school, preferably in a computer or technical-related field and foundational object-oriented programming experience.
Associate degree from an accredited school, preferably in a computer or technical related field, and minimal object-oriented programming experience.
Programming language knowledge at a basic level:
Object-oriented fundamentals
SQL or equivalent data querying language preferred
Familiarity with web-services preferred
Experience with source-control system preferred
Good problem-solving abilities.
Ability and willingness to learn and extend skills.
Good oral and written communication skills.
Good organizational skills.
Certifications in a development and/or project management capability preferred.
Experience in the insurance industry preferred.
Proficient in use of Microsoft Office software required for this job.
Valid Texas Driver’s license and driving record at the time of hire which would not place the employee on probation or disqualify the employee from Certified Fleet Operator status and the Company Driving and Safety Policy.

Use of PC, telephone, copy machine, fax, and other office equipment over six (6) hours per day.
Extended periods of sitting and concentration.

WORKING CONDITIONS
Occasional long, irregular hours.
Occasional travel by auto or other public transportation.
Work to be conducted in office environment owned or leased by company.
