BRIEF DESCRIPTION
The purpose of this position is to provide senior level administrative, operational, and research support to the legal department of the Brazos River Authority (BRA).
This is accomplished by reviewing, proofing, and finalizing contracts, procedures, and various other documents; assisting in the preparation, examination, analysis, review and revision of contracts, amendments, interlocal agreements, leases (as lessee or lessor), memorandums of understanding, work orders, and rental agreements; identifying potential risks to the company; conducting legal research; assisting with special projects; coordinating and scheduling departmental activities; coordinating day-to-day management of tasks within the legal department; answering phones; serving as a liaison between BRA departments, outside firms, and legal team members to expedite the completion of projects and activities; responding to general public inquiries; coordinating meetings; and managing internal and external correspondence.
Other responsibilities include assisting team members in finalizing reports; developing PowerPoint presentations; interacting with employees; preparing and transmitting reports; filling in for the receptionist as needed; serving as backup for the Contracts Administrator; and any other duties as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS Minimum four years experience or equivalent combination of education Paralegal certificate Proficiency with Microsoft programs such as Office, Excel, Word, and Power Point Understanding of legal language, principles, and research methods Notary Public Commission Associates Degree (in related field) - Completed course requirements to receive an Associates Degree KEY COMPETENCIES Handling a large amount of work efficiently and effectively.
Creating honest, trusting, and successful working relationships with others (inside and outside the organization) by consistently demonstrating competence and reliability in job performance, and representing what is best about the organization through demonstrated principles, actions, and communications.
