What We Are Looking For
The Judicial Affairs Legal Associate serves within the Division of Student Life in the Student Conduct Administration department and reports to the Office Manager.
This position works closely with the Student Conduct Officers and processes all reports alleging violations of the Student Conduct Code which includes extensive work within the Conduct Database (Maxient).
This position works with students, parents, government agents, and other constituents and handles correspondence with students as directed by the Office Manager or Conduct Officers.
*All applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
Required qualifications include:
A high school diploma and one year of relevant work experience.
Bachelor’s degree and three years of relevant work experience are preferred.
An active Christian faith.
Excellent organization skills.
Ability to work well within a team.
Ability to demonstrate good judgment under pressure.
Ability to demonstrate integrity and confidentiality in all job duties.
What You Will Do
Exhibit an appreciation for, a sensitivity to and respect for a diverse academic environment; inclusive of students, faculty, and staff of many social, economic, cultural, ideological, racial and ethnic backgrounds.
Process all incoming student conduct code reports, including conduct related police reports, and management of the Maxient database system related to Student Conduct Code Violations.
Includes work within the University's student database system, Banner, and other student information platforms.
Work with campus partners and outside law enforcement agencies.
Provide assistance to the Student Conduct Officers, assists with gathering additional information related to reported violations and assists with some audits and analytic reports.
Assist with records checks for the department and FERPA (Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act) requests.
Provide assistance with the review and processing of incoming sanctions and the placement of Banner registration holds.
Provides support for phone calls, office guests, and correspondence with students.
Perform all other duties as assigned to support Baylor’s mission.
Ability to comply with university policies.
Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
