JOB
Under general supervision is responsible for maintaining dockets; preparing court documents; coordinating court appearances; administering oaths; preparing testing orders; performing high volume of data entry; answering questions; maintaining cases; calculates jail time credit; and performs related duties as required.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Coordinates appearance of parties and maintains hearing, jury and non-jury trial daily docketsPrepares and issues legal documents which may include court orders, judgments, warrants, HIV Aids testing orders, or requests for psychiatric examinationsDetermines appropriate documents to present to the Judge in order to facilitate a determination of guilt and/or sentencingAdministers oaths for parties involved in individual casesResponsible for notifying the Department of Public Safety of all DWI and drug convictionsPerforms data entry of all court proceedings and court orders including appeal informationProvides clear, concise and accurate information to the judge, general public and law enforcement officials in person and by telephone regarding court proceduresResponsible for overseeing intake and proper records management of all documents involved in caseCalculates jail time credit used in determining proper release date of defendants to the Texas Department of CorrectionsArranges courtroom procedure while maintaining order in the courtroom; Notifies defendants of their options and responsibilitiesPerforms related duties and fulfills responsibilities as required
