ABOUT HOTEL 1928
In partnership with Magnolia, a Texas-based lifestyle brand led by Chip and Joanna Gaines, AJ Capital has transformed the Grand Karem Shrine building into an inspired hospitality experience for guests and residents of the Waco community.
The historic property was converted into Hotel 1928, which includes 33 guest rooms, 3 F&B outlets, over 6,600 square feet of meeting and event space, and a Magnolia concepted rooftop terrace.
Originally built in 1928 and encompassing over 59,000 square feet of space, the property was constructed as a Grand Shrine Temple and served as the home for the nobles of the Karem Shrine until 1995.
The historic hotel will opened at the beginning of the November.

You will work closely with the hotel's leadership team to ensure that the hotel is staffed with a skilled, motivated, and diverse workforce that is committed to providing exceptional service to guests.
WHAT YOU WILL DO Develop and implement human resources policies and procedures that comply with applicable laws and regulations and promote a positive work culture Manage the recruitment and selection process, including job postings, resume screenings, interviews, and background checks.
Develop and conduct new employee orientation programs and oversee the training and development of existing employees.
Monitor employee performance, provide feedback and coaching, and develop performance improvement plans as necessary.
Administer employee benefit programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
Maintain accurate employee records and ensure compliance with all employment laws and regulations.
Manage employee relations issues, including disciplinary actions, grievances, and investigations.
Coordinate with other departments, such as housekeeping, food and beverage, and maintenance, to ensure that staffing needs are met.
Develop and implement diversity and inclusion initiatives that promote a welcoming and inclusive work environment.
Prepare and analyze reports on employee turnover, retention, and other HR metrics.
Manage the HR department budget and ensure that expenses are within budgetary constraints.
Play a critical role in creating a positive and productive work environment that supports the hotel's mission and values.
WHO YOU ARE As a Director of Human Resources, you are a seasoned HR professional with extensive experience in the hospitality industry.
You are a skilled communicator and a strong leader, able to build and maintain relationships with employees at all levels of the organization.
You have a deep understanding of employment laws and regulations and a commitment to creating a positive and inclusive work environment.

Bachelor's degree 5+ years of experience in full cycle human resources, preferably in the hospitality industry or working with a non-exempt population Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Experience with HRIS systems and proficiency in Microsoft Office PHR or SHRM-CP certification preferred.
