The Food Safety & Quality team at BrightFarms is hiring a Sanitation Manager who will own the Sanitation Programs at existing facilities and new BrightFarm locations.
This role will be the central point of contact to create and own of all Sanitation SOPs, work instructions, validation studies, and Master Sanitation Schedule.
Responsibilities: Create, modify, and own the sanitation standard operating procedures and work instructions at BrightFarms.
Manage the Master Sanitation Schedule for all farms by collaborating with site managers.
Disseminate technical information in easy-to-understand language or a non-technical audience.
Manage the validation studies for sanitation procedures and equipment.
Build strategic partnerships with sanitation vendors.
Meet with subject matter experts to ensure specialized topics are appropriately addressed.
Collaborate with the Ag & Science, Operations, and Maintenance teams for aligned sanitation needs.
Participate in change management and new construction meetings to identify sanitation needs.
Support the Food Safety & Quality Department with other requests as needed.
Qualifications and Education: Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Food Manufacturing, Business, Sciences, Engineering, Agriculture, or other related field.
Excellent process writing skills.
Excellent interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills.
Strong presentation and training skills.
Strong understanding of sanitation equipment and chemicals.
Interpret Safety Data sheets and labels to ensure safe handling and compliance with applicable regulatory requirements.
Experience working with allergens, preferred.
3-5 year’s experience in managing sanitation programs or writing sanitation procedures.
Collaborative team spirit, self-motivated, and strong attention to detail.
Ability to work collaboratively with all levels of employees and management.
Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
Ability to learn quickly and work in a highly collaborative team environment.
Experience with Slack and Microsoft Teams, preferred.
Ability to travel 30%-50% of the time across the network of farms to observe operational processes and collaborate with key stakeholders.
