ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR OF ORGANIZATIONAL DEVELOPMENT | JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY At Magnolia, the Associate Director of Organizational Development is responsible for developing and implementing all employee training and maintaining a hiring and onboarding program that attracts and develops great talent for Magnolia.
This Associate Director supports a culture of growth, learning, and evaluation by providing leadership for recruitment, onboarding, training, and organizational structural strategy as well as special programs facilitated by the People Team.
This position works from Magnolia Headquarters in Waco, Texas.
It reports to the Vice President of People and has supervisory responsibilities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Uphold Magnolia’s manifesto and values • Confer with organizational leadership to identify personnel needs, job specifications, essential functions, qualifications, and skills • Collaborate with People Team leadership to develop and implement diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging philosophy • Develop and implement meaningful, relevant employee and manager training and development activities, including onboarding and performance management, that align with Magnolia’s goals and objectives • Manage the job description library, ensuring that job descriptions are relevant and current • Oversee the company organization chart and advise on organizational design for new departmental developments, changes, or restructures to maximize operational effectiveness • Oversee a recruitment program that ensures compliance with all local, state, and federal requirements, is within budget allocation, and ensures an onboarding and recruitment experience aligned with Magnolia standards of service • Create and assess key performance metrics to enable accurate and valid measurement of employee performance and to identify areas for improvement • Maintain broad and current subject matter knowledge and expertise in federal and state employment laws to advise leadership with solutions for human resources issues and evolving organizational needs • Align training, leadership, and professional development initiatives to support organizational strategy and growth • Perform other duties as assigned QUALIFICATIONS • Hard skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required • Soft skills: Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills; strong organizational and prioritization skills; ability to work in a fast-paced environment while remaining calm and organized; ability to act with discretion and maintain confidentiality; ability to engage with others and improve processes • Education: Bachelor’s degree from a 4-year college or university preferred • Experience: 5+ years of related work experience preferred • General availability: Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and special events as business needs require PHYSICAL DEMANDS While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands and arms to reach, handle, feel; utilize fine motor dexterity of fingers; talk or hear and taste or smell.
 The employee is frequently required to stand and walk.
The employee is frequently required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
 Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
