Job Summary
Baylor Scott & White, Hillcrest (Texas) has an immediate opening for a Manager of Pastoral Services.
Reporting to the Director of Pastoral Services and Clinical Pastoral Education in Central Texas, as well as serving as department representative to facility President or other leaders, our next manager of Pastoral Services will have the following responsibilities:
Setting vision for the management of the Department of Pastoral Services at Baylor Scott & White Health - Hillcrest (BSW - Hillcrest)
Monitoring and facilitating the day-to-day operations of the Pastoral Care Department, chaplaincy staff and pastoral volunteers, ensuring the provision of spiritual and emotional care, religious, sacramental, moral and ethical needs of patients and employees and physicians of the hospital.
Actively participate as a member of a professional therapeutic team and provide spiritual care and counseling to patients and families
Supervise chaplains and mentor CPE student chaplains as they provide assessment and support for patients in accordance with joint commission requirements
Evaluate and recommend chances to policies and establish procedures that positively affect the managed organization
Conducts investigative studies to advance knowledge and to develop ways and means for providing more effective religious ministry for patients, family and staff
Coordinates and provides consultation to physicians, nurses, social workers, counselors and ancillary staff as part of an interdisciplinary treatment team to meet patient needs and to strengthen patient care.
Facilitate strong relationships within greater Waco, Texas religious community, including interfacing with Baylor University's Truett Seminary and their students who are enrolled in the Central Texas CPE program at Temple, and who do their clinical work at BSW - Hillcrest

Preferred Qualifications
Strong Interpersonal and Communication Skills
2+ years of managerial experience
Clinical ethics experience.
Minimum Qualifications
Masters' Degree in Theological Studies or Related Field
4 Years of Experience
Board Certified Chaplain (BCC)
