Job Summary
Responsible for coordinating the overall production of quality ready mix concrete in the most safe, efficient, and cost-effective manner possible.
This includes managing all employees involved in the production of the product.
Essential Job Duties/Functions
Opening or closing of plant facilities according to company policies, procedures, and guidelines.
Operates batch plant console to make ready mix concrete in a safe manner according to schedule which includes:
Pre and post shift plant inspections identifying potential plant down-time issues.
Preventative maintenance, scheduling maintenance, and plant cleanliness.
Daily, weekly, and end of month Material Inventories.
Communicate with dispatch and other support departments in a timely manner.
Manage all plant production employees (loader operators, yard personnel, batch personnel) to include administering all applicable company policies and procedures.
Provide a positive working environment and handle employee issues appropriately and in a timely manner.
Ensures employee awareness of safety and emergency policies and procedures and reports violations.
Operates equipment on the plant site as needed.
Coordinates how to handle returned concrete to the plant and manages returned concrete piles (Plant specific procedures)
Other duties as assigned.

Demonstrates effective communication skills (oral and written).
Demonstrates proficiency with simple math calculations including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division (especially percentages) as well as measurements.
Must be coachable and trainable.
Qualification or Experience in any of the following is preferable
Concrete production and/or delivery.
Supervising others
Valid state driver's license
Valid Class A or B Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
Satisfactory driving and criminal record.
ACI Field Grade 1 Certification or ability to pass written and hands on test.
Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Cortex, Verifi, Command Concrete & Batch Systems, Google Docs
Plant maintenance and mechanical aptitude.

Physical Requirements
Frequent periods of sitting in a chair or standing.
Frequent/daily reaching, grabbing and pulling files and papers.
Frequent/daily use of fingers, wrists and hands to enter data via computer keyboard.
Occasional lifting of up to 100 lbs.
Daily/frequent climbing of steps and ladders.
Daily/frequent stooping, squatting, bending, kneeling and twisting.
Daily pushing and pulling.
Must be able to differentiate colors.
Must be able to hear noises.
Environmental Conditions (Personal protective equipment is provided where required or requested)
The work is 70% indoors and 30% outdoors.
Daily exposure to elements of weather including extremes in heat, cold, dust and moisture for limited periods.
Daily/frequently exposed to rough, muddy and icy walking surface conditions.
Daily exposure to high noise levels and vibration.
Daily/frequent exposure to moving parts/pieces of equipment.
Daily exposure to cement, concrete, admixtures, dust, diesel fuel, and other substances that can be dangerous if handled incorrectly
