****POSITION OPEN UNTIL FILLED**** START DATE: Fall 2024 GENERAL POSITION DESCRIPTION: This is a full-time position.
Participate in team teaching of nursing theory and clinical practice in a one (1) year certificate program.
Plan, supervise and evaluate student skills, simulation on campus and clinical experience in assigned health care facilities.
Responsible for didactic and clinical instruction.
Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to: student advising, maintaining office hours, participating in college committees, participating in the mentor-mentee program, promoting and supporting extra-curricular activities, participating in professional development, and working across departments to develop student communication, computation, and problem-solving skills.
Faculty shall provide reasonable and uniform standards based upon sound educational principles that allow the opportunity for flexibility, creativity, and innovation.
Faculty are expected to accept courses as assigned which could include non-traditional venues, such as evening, weekend, dual credit, and/or online courses, and must be able to travel to clinical facilities and be flexible to teach as needed.
This position reports to the Program Director for Vocational Nursing and exercises no supervision.
NOTE: This is a security sensitive position and an appropriate background investigation will be made on applicants being strongly considered for this position.

establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with colleagues and those contacted in the course of work; 13.
communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
WORKING CONDITIONS: Physical effort-restricted: Sustained posture or intense attentiveness for prolonged periods.
Light lifting (less than 30 lbs.
), some walking, pushing, and pulling on a regular basis.
Work environment-Minimal hazard/exposure: Standard office setting.
At least minimal environmental controls to assure health and comfort.
QUALIFICATIONS: MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university.
Show evidence of teaching abilities and maintaining current knowledge, clinical expertise, and safety in the subject areas of teaching responsibility.
Experience: Three years of current experience in various nursing fields or have advanced preparation in nursing, nursing education, and/or nursing administration.
Special Requirement: Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in Texas.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Master’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university.
Experience: Professional experience in post-secondary teaching in a Vocational Nursing program.
