What We Are Looking For Baylor University is seeking an Associate Director of Multicultural Affairs to support the mission of the university through the broad administrative, supervisory, and program management responsibilities which require the ability to create and maintain positive and productive working relationships.
The position plays a key role in assisting the Director with departmental strategic planning, program design and implementation, student and staff leadership development, budget management, personnel supervision, assessment, and in developing students to lead in an increasingly diverse and multicultural world.
In addition, the position interacts with parents and university guests, collaborates with student success and enrollment management staff and initiatives as well as works closely with colleagues within and outside the Division of Student Life to help shape an intercultural and faith-formative environment that impacts the holistic development.
A Master's degree, five years of relevant experience and an active Christian faith are required.
A Doctoral degree and seven years of relevant work experience are preferred.
A combination of education and experience will be considered in lieu of the degree requirement.
All applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
What You Will Do Work closely with and support the Director in developing and implementing departmental strategy, goals and evaluation.
Assist in developing and managing budgets.
Supervise staff as assigned.
Coordinate staff meetings and facilitate ongoing staff development.
Serve on behalf of the Director in their absence.
Stay abreast of trends, laws, and emerging literature impacting intercultural engagement, student success, and leadership development.
Analyze departmental results of student learning and engagement to measure progress and incorporate improvements.
Represent the department at professional association, campus, and community events.
Advise student organization leaders and administer student organization events.
Mentor and coach students.
Facilitate training and development programs for students, faculty, and staff.
Work collaboratively with key partners across campus and in the community to support student learning, engagement, and faith formation.
Perform all other duties as assigned to support Baylor’s mission.
Ability to comply with university policies.
Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
