Job Description:
Responsible for performing skilled work in the construction, maintenance and repair of energized and de-energized electrical distribution lines and equipment up to 600volts without supervision.
Duties include but are not limited to the following: Troubleshooting, repairing, installing and removing overhead streetlight and guard light circuits, replacement of light heads, bulbs, photo electric eyes, and refractors.
Minimum Requirements: 1 year minimum electric distribution construction experience required.
Must be qualified to work on energized low voltages of up to 600 volts, be able to climb wood poles, operate a bucket truck and perform pole top rescues.
Must follow all safe work practices.
Requires basic skills in math.
Must be able to fluently read, write, speak and comprehend English.
Must be computer literate.
May be required to work weekends, evenings and holidays.
Required to have and maintain Driver License.
Preferred Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
State wide travel preferable.
Physical Requirements: Must be able to stand for long periods of time on varied surfaces.
Must be able to move freely, including ability to stoop, crawl, and bend at the knees and waist.
Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds unassisted.
Must be able to climb utility poles.
Must be able to perform tasks at elevated heights of 10’-65’ from approved equipment.
May be required to work long and unpredictable hours.
Position requires working outdoors in all types of weather.
Must be able to pass pre-employment screening that includes background and drug testing.
