Position Summary: The Traveling Operations Service Technician (TOST) is responsible for executing technical service repairs and production installations in support of stores under the direct leadership of Vice President of Service.
Here's what you'll achieve in this role:
This position is expected to assist in the hands-on technical support and is expected to travel throughout the country.
Working side-by-side with existing technicians, this position will produce installations, assist in the diagnosis and repairs of challenging WAV’s, assist in training and development of the new technicians to ensure all processes are clearly communicated and executable.
Following the established processes and executing the activities performed by the store service technicians while being consistent with company policy, processes, and procedures.
TOST will also fill in as service technicians in stores with vacancies/gaps within the Division as assigned by the Regional Management team.
Assisting Service Managers with the daily service repair orders as needed by following our best practices to deliver successful results; digital video inspection process, service efficiency, utilization, production quality, scheduling management, parts ordering, and salesforce utilization.
Perform the technicians’ responsibilities coupled with all production, service, and maintenance.
Ensuring accuracy and well-documented times for all RO’s in the process of installations.
Including hours approval, applications, fitting times, alignment requirements and parts issues and make recommendations to service manager.
Recording of serial numbers and retrieve any warranty cards that need completed as the production jobs are being worked on.
Learn and assist with repairs including parts numbers, time required, and reporting for NMEDA log and Docutrack processes.
Support a training culture through the participation in company training initiatives and continuous learning.
Promote Employee Engagement through the demonstration of leadership skills in support of our core values.
Complete other duties as assigned.
What you should possess:
High school diploma or GED required
1 Year experience in automotive repair management preferred
2-3 years of automotive technician experience preferred
Solid electrical and/or automotive wiring experience
Excellent customer service skills and experience is required
Solid verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills are required
Experience working independently with minimal supervision is required
Available to relocate within assigned division and/or company
At least 50% travel required
