Howmet Fastening Systems is looking for a Maintenance/Electrical Group Lead II.
This role is responsible for, under minimal supervision, training, troubleshooting , and maintaining electrical control systems, process control systems, instrumentation, and operating interface terminals for large-scale high-speed manufacturing machines.
These machines may contain multiple PLCs, Servos, HMI, PCs, Robotics, Lasers and vision inspection systems.
Provides guidance and instructs employees in the performance of assigned duties.
Responsible for scheduling and training tasks for group employees regularly .
This position will be based in our Waco, TX plant.
Key Responsibilities: Responsible for installation, maintenance and troubleshooting of all industrial power distribution and lighting panels, circuits, and fixtures.
Responsible for the installation, maintenance and troubleshooting of plant-wide industrial electronic components for electro- mechanical systems, installation and programming of PLC programmable controllers, power supplies special and remote I/0 modules and communication interfacing.
Plans and schedules work, assigning tasks to other employees in the workgroup.
Ensures that all work is performed in accordance with established safety standards, provides instruction on safety procedures, and corrects safety deficiencies.
Identifies training needs and coordinates or performs training required to ensure that all employees in the work group are appropriately trained for tasks assigned.
Actively develops and implements Continuous Improvement projects to improve process capabilities, using Huck Global Production system tools and techniques.
Involved in the selection of new employees, ensuring qualifications-based hiring decisions.
Orders, or coordinates the ordering of, items needed to sustain operations such as parts, supplies, materials, and equipment.
Completes required documentation accurately and in timely fashion in both automated and hard copy formats.
Reports matters that are beyond the scope of authority to immediate Supervisor or Manager for resolution.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Must be able to work any shift, weekends, and overtime.
Basic skills: Possess leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills to effectively provide direction to other workers without direct supervisory authority.
Ability to train other employees in the performance of their duties.

A working knowledge of business systems used by the organization, such as BaaN and Lotus Notes.
Good working knowledge in PCs and application software is essential.
Knowledge of PLCs, HMI Programming, digital and analog sensors.
Knowledge of complex servo systems, such as Allen Bradley GML, Siemens SiMotion, and Quin PTS.
Must have experience with Allen Bradley and Siemens programmable logic controllers.
Must have working knowledge of motors control centers and distribution controls systems and Ladder Logic.
Working from electrical schematics, must be able to troubleshoot, diagnose, and isolate electrical and electronics issues in a timely manner.
Must be able to perform tasks at working heights greater than 4 feet.
High School Diploma or GED Minimum 5 years of experience in electrical manufacturing and controls design Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
