What We’re Looking For
The Coordinator for Academic Services will advise seminary students on their degree plans, courses, and registration.
The Coordinator will oversee Baylor’s academic information systems including the online catalog, Curriculum Inventory Management, and UAS.
Additionally, the Coordinator will be responsible for data entry, running academic reports, and supervising two student workers.
Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
What You Will Do
Advise students in academic matters in-person, over the phone, and on Zoom/Teams meetings.
Answer questions related to academic services and degree planning.
Review applications for advanced standing and transfer students.
Advise transfer students and advanced standing students on course registration and degree planning.
Interpret degree requirements and assist students who change their degree program.
Provide pastoral care and support for students as related to academic success.
Demonstrate understanding and familiarity with Truett academic program requirements, the seminary catalog, and academic policies and procedures.
Assist Houston and San Antonio students with registration and degree planning.
Assist doctoral students for permits and registration as needed.
Proficient in Baylor’s information systems related to academic matters, including Banner, OnBase, UAchieve, UAS, Slate, Crystal Reports, Interfolio, CIM and more.
Update catalog using online Baylor catalog system.
Update curriculum and course changes using CIM.
Run enrollment reports in Crystal, ChairSIS, and Slate.
Liaise with the Baylor Registrar’s Office regarding course petitions, transfer credit, and add/drop requests in OnBase.
Apply registration permits
Plan course rotations for main campus, online courses, additional sites, and MA degrees
Complete varied tasks dependent upon the academic calendar, including advising meals, faculty interviews, and graduation.
Provide academic services and support for adjunct faculty in Waco and additional sites (ex.
assist with Canvas, Bearweb, ClassRoll, etc.
)
Perform all other duties as assigned to support Baylor’s mission
Ability to comply with University policies
Maintain regular and punctual attendance
