WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR Baylor’s Law School is seeking a Legal Writing Associate who will supports the mission of Baylor University by providing administrative and logistical support for the Practice Court program.
A Juris Doctor degree, less than one year of experience, and an active Christian faith are required.
A Juris Doctor degree, two years of experience, and an active Christian faith are preferred.
Applications must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING Knowledge of Baylor Law’s Practice Court program and an understanding of the quarter system.
Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, with attention to detail.
Strong organizational skills and ability to follow through on projects independently.
Desire to work in fast-paced environment with a hard-working, dedicated team.
Ability to frequently move materials, boxes, and exhibits weighing up to 25 pounds across the school for various needs.
Experience in managing a heavy workload and handle competing deadlines in a work environment involving a large number of interruptions.
Analytical and critical thinking skills to analyze and review guidelines, policies and procedures to determine appropriate solutions to problems and/or questions WHAT YOU WILL DO Handling all scheduling for advocacy exercises connected with the Baylor Practice Court program.
Serve as primary initial liaison between Practice Court students and faculty, to address questions.
Coordinate the administrative and technical details for the conduct of classes and advocacy exercises in the Practice Court Program.
Track and record grades for the multiple courses and advocacy exercises in the Practice Court program.
Perform all other duties as assigned to support Baylor’s mission.
Ability to comply with university policies.
Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
