Whitney Family Medicine is looking for a caring, efficient, clinic experienced LVN or MA.
We need someone who is committed to patients and strives to provide excellent care.
Experience in a fast moving clinic atmosphere is necessary.
Experience with paper charting, scheduling, call backs, vaccine administration, and assisting in small office procedures required.
Must be licensed for LVN or certified as an MA.
*DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:* 1.
Assist physicians and mid-level providers with patient care.
2.
Prepare patient rooms and room patients.
3.
Take patient vital signs, review medical history, medication list and chief complaint history and chart accordingly.
4.
Assist physicians and mid-level providers in all special procedures, including minor surgery, as required.
5.
Remove sutures, clean wounds, and apply dressings as directed by the physicians and mid-level providers.
6.
Administer allergy shots, immunizations and medications prescribed by the physicians and mid-level providers.
7.
Schedule lab and x-ray appointments and communicate with the patients.
8.
Receive and address phone calls from patients as directed by the physicians and mid-level providers.
9.
Authorize prescriptions and prescription refills as directed by physicians, midlevel provider and established prescription protocols.
10.
Notify patients of lab, radiology and other test results as directed by physicians and mid-level providers.
File all documentation in patient charts as directed.
11.
Perform CLIA waived lab procedures as directed.
12.
Assist with patient education counseling, patient care forms and referral arrangements.
13.
Assist with sterilization and maintenance of instruments and equipment.
14.
Maintain sample drug closet in accordance with clinic procedures.
15.
Keep exam and treatment rooms clean utilizing infection control policies.
16.
Perform other duties and requested by the Medical Director, physicians, midlevel providers, or Clinic Administrator.
*QUALIFICATIONS:* Current degree from an accredited Medical Assistant training program or equivalent prior experience.
Previous demonstrated medical assistant experience.
Prior experience in a clinic setting preferred.
The perfect candidate is patient, courteous and tactful with neat appearance.
Has the ability to communicate and relate well with physicians, mid-level providers, other clinic staff, patients and patient families.
Must be efficient and conscientious in delivering medical services to patients.
Capable of working within designated clinic and patient privacy standards.
Job Type: Full-time Pay: $14.
00 - $20.
