GENERAL POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Participate in team teaching of nursing theory and clinical practice in a concept-based curriculum.
Plan, supervise and evaluate student skills, simulation on campus and clinical experience in assigned health care facilities.
Responsible for didactic and clinical instruction, including theory, lab, simulation, and clinical experiences.
Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to: maintaining office hours, promoting and supporting extra-curricular activities, working across departments to develop student communication, computation, and problem-solving skills.
Faculty are expected to accept courses as assigned which could include non-traditional venues, such as evening, weekend, dual credit, and/or online courses, and must be able to travel to clinical facilities and be flexible to teach as needed.
NOTE: This is a security sensitive position and an appropriate background investigation will be made on applicants being strongly considered for this position.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Physical effort-restricted: Sustained posture or intense attentiveness for prolonged periods.
Light lifting (less than 30 lbs.
), some walking, pushing, and pulling on a regular basis.
Work environment-Minimal hazard/exposure: Standard office setting.
At least minimal environmental controls to assure health and comfort.
BENEFITS:
Part-Time Retirement.

QUALIFICATIONS:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Master's Degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university.
Show evidence of teaching abilities and maintaining current knowledge, clinical expertise, and safety in the subject areas of teaching responsibility.
Special Requirement: Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in Texas.
