What We Are Looking For The Assistant Director for SOAR and the Basic Needs Resources plays a crucial role in overseeing and coordinating essential services such as the food pantry program, career closet program, and financial wellness program.
This position requires a dedicated and compassionate individual who can effectively manage and enhance these resources to support the well-being and success of the Baylor community students served.
They will bring together assets and resources from across campus and the local community to raise awareness of student challenges in these areas.
A Bachelor's Degree is required along with three years of experience and an active Christian faith are required.
A Master's Degree is preferred.
All applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
What You Will Do Program Oversight Manage day-to-day operations of the food pantry, career closet, and financial wellness programs.
Develop and implement strategic plans to enhance the effectiveness and reach of each program.
Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and guidelines.
Advocate and educate Baylor community on policies and practices that impact basic needs insecurity.
Maintain record of program participation, outcomes, and impact.
Generate regular reports for stakeholders and administration, demonstrating the success and areas of improvement for each program.
Create, develop, and implement a comprehensive strategic plan for all student basic needs resources.
Manage excellence and endowment funds.
Team Leadership Supervise and support staff, interns, and volunteers involved in basic needs services.
Foster a positive and inclusive work environment that promotes collaboration and professional development.
Conduct regular training sessions to keep the team informed and engaged.
Supervise student staff to manage inventory for the food pantry and career closet, ensuring sufficient stock.
Act in the capacity of interim director as needed.
Community Engagement Establish and maintain partnerships with community organizations, businesses, and donors to secure resources and support.
Collaborate with campus departments and student organizations to raise awareness and promote the utilization of basic needs services.
Engage with national organizations to learn best practices that support student needs.
Student Resource Support Develop and implement outreach strategies to connect with students in need.
Provide direct assistance to clients, including conducting needs assessments and connecting them with appropriate resources.
Implement feedback mechanisms to continuously improve the quality of services.
Communicate government agencies to help connect students with services.
Utilize Navigate to create lists of students in need and communicate regularly to share available resources.
Resource Management Manage inventory for the food pantry and career closet, ensuring sufficient stock and variety.
Monitor and allocate financial resources for the financial wellness program effectively.
Explore grant opportunities and contribute to fundraising efforts to sustain and expand services.
Meet and communicate with donors.
