What We Are Looking For
We invite applications for a Postdoctoral Research Associate in alluvial geomorphology to work with the Sedimentary Geology group at Baylor University.
The researcher will use field, analytical, and dating approaches to understand the timing, extent, and implications of a ~ 160 km channel avulsion of the Brazos River in central and south-central Texas.
We seek a collaborative and motivated individual capable of integrating results from field mapping, GIS modeling, sediment dating, climate information, and hydrologic and sedimentological analysis of stream characteristics.
Applications should be received by April 1, 2023 for full consideration.
A PhD in geosciences and a Christian faith are required.
What You Will Do
Assist with research design and implementation and oversee experiments
Conduct extensive field work
Have familiarity with GIS, dating methods and sedimentological analyses
Develop and implement research quality control procedures
Prepare and manage databases
Verify the accuracy and validity of data
Analyze data and prepare reports;
Publish journal articles and deliver conference presentations
Perform all other duties as assigned to support Baylor’s mission
Ability to comply with university policies
