What We Are Looking For
The Athletic Trainer/Assistant Director of Athletic Medicine serves in the Division of Athletics and reports to the Director of Athletic Medicine for Clinical Care.
This position is responsible for assisting in the development, implementation, and evaluation of the medical and rehabilitation programs and needs of student-athletes on the Men’s and Women’s Cross Country & Track and Field Teams.
A Master's Degree is required along with two to eight years of relevant work experience is preferred.
National Athletic Training Certification is required.
Texas Athletic Training License is required but can be obtained after employment offer is accepted.
All applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
What You Will Do
Medical
Provide medical care to athletes at practice, training, and competition events.
Administer treatment under the supervision of the Director of Athletic Medicine and Team Physician.
Communication
Maintain communication with student-athletes, parents, coaches, team physicians, and administration on progress of student athletes.
Maintain proper documentation as necessary.
Operations
Assist in the maintenance and proper use of athletic training facilities in order to create an efficient and safe working environment.
Program Management
Assist with the management of the student athletic training education program.
Compliance
Maintain working knowledge of and adherence to all NCAA, Big 12 Conference, and institution rules and regulations and to communicate immediately any possible infractions of such rules and regulations to the Athletics Compliance staff.
Other Duties
Other program duties as requested by the Director of Athletics or the area head.
