JOB OVERVIEW:
The Ortho Dental Assistant is a key member and contributor in creating an amazing, one-of-a-kind Patient Experience.
They will provide direct patient care in all stages of an orthodontic appointment.
Successful candidates will work in the Back Office and in our world-class lobbies engaging, entertaining, and caring for our patients.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Dental practice management software (Open Dental/Dentrix) experience
Bilingual (Spanish) is preferred
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
* Assist with Orthodontist in treating patient
* Instruct patient of elastic treatment
* Preparing tray set-ups according to doctor preferences and planned procedures
* Taking diagnostic quality X-Rays and attaching them to the patient chart
* Mixing amalgam, cement, and preparing impression materials
* Pouring, trimming, and polishing impression trays
* Assisting with bonding, banding, adjusting, and debonding orthodontic patients
* Placing and cementing bands
* Setting up orthodontic brackets and removing excess cement from brackets and bands
* Making retainers, bleaching trays, and impressions
* Providing excellent chairside assistance and anticipating next steps to stay in constant mental synchronization with the doctor
* Taking patient initial, progress, and debond photos
* Taking scans of patients for clear aligners or models
