Responsibilities:
- Perform preliminary testing on patients, including visual acuity, color vision, and depth perception tests
- Assist the optometrist with eye exams and procedures
- Obtain and record patient medical history and current medications
- Educate patients on contact lens insertion, removal, and care
- Assist with frame selection and fitting for glasses
- Process insurance claims and handle billing for services rendered
- Maintain accurate and organized patient records
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients
Experience:
- Previous experience as an optometric technician or in a similar role preferred
- Knowledge of retail math and sales techniques
- Familiarity with medical coding and billing procedures
- Proficiency in using electronic medical record systems, such as Epic
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Experience working with pediatric patients is a plus
This position requires a high level of professionalism, as you will be interacting directly with patients.
