Position Summary

13 Hourly *2 Openings* Administers psychosexual testing instruments to complete evaluations as part of court order conditions of supervision or as part of the Pre-Sentence Investigation process to make treatment recommendations.
Conducts individual and group psychotherapy specific to probationers who are court ordered to participate in sex offender treatment.
Participates in treatment team meetings.
Job Description ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Administers and/or interprets psychosexual testing instruments for completion of evaluations to determine individualized treatment plan.
Conducts individual and group psychotherapy using evidence-based practices for probationers' court ordered to sex offender treatment.
Remains up-to-date on current treatment modalities.
Understands and uses techniques to increase motivation for change (e.
g.
- Motivational Interviewing).
Monitors clinical progress of probationers in sex offender treatment program.
Documents and maintains progress notes in treatment records.
Prepares monthly progress reports, discharge plans and summaries to the assigned Community Supervision Officer.
Monitors and review ongoing treatment or other needs.
Updates offender data and information into the department designated case management software system.
Understands evidence-based programs and possess the ability to implement them.
Works closely and effectively with specialized and regular community supervision officers (CSOs) and serves as a team member of the McLennan County CSCD Sex Offender Treatment Team.
Participates in specialized training to maintain licensure as a licensed sex offender therapist.
Adheres to departmental rules and guidelines, i.
e.
work hours, absences, tardiness, training requirements, credentialing, and compliance with all applicable policies and procedures.
Provides court testimony as needed.
Must adhere to Texas Department of Criminal Justice Community Justice Assistance Division"s Code of Ethics and the Ethical Standards established by the Texas Department of State Health Services and the Council on Sex Offender Treatment.
Must adhere to the Texas Department of State Health Services and the Council on Sex Offender Treatment standards of practice as a licensed sex offender treatment provider.
EDUCATION: Required: Master's degree in counseling field such as Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, Marriage and Family Counseling Licensed Sex Offender Treatment Provider (LSOTP) in the state of Texas A valid driver license in the state of Texas (current resident) with an acceptable driving record or the ability to obtain a valid Texas driver license (currently residing out of state) within 90 days is required, unless waived by management.
Preferred: (BILINGUAL) Fluent Spanish Speaking with excellent communication and interpersonal skills Experience with clients involved in the criminal justice system and/or mental health populations SKILLS ~ EXPERIENCE ~REQUIREMENTS: Required: Must successfully pass a criminal background check from the Department of Public Safety and pre-employment drug test.
Licensed Sex Offender Treatment Provider (LSOTP) in the state of Texas Experience with cognitive/behavioral models of treatment, assessment instruments and clinical documentation.
Counseling/teaching experience in a treatment setting in addition to experience with offender and/or mental health populations preferred.
Must be able to work a flexible schedule, to include morning and/or afternoons to accommodate probationer schedules.
Must possess a valid Texas Driver"s License.
Reliable automobile and proof of valid liability insurance.

PHYSICAL DEMAND REQUIREMENTS: Driving personal automobile, reading, bending, sitting, standing, walking, kneeling, speaking, hearing, lifting case files, significant computer data entry, ability to manage stress in meeting deadlines and change, and other physical efforts as required.
Uses telephone, cellular phone, computer, printer, copier and fax machine.
This position generally requires a flexible 15-25 hour work week to complete assigned tasks.
HOURS / SPECIAL CONDITIONS: This position may be required to work a flexible schedule based on the needs of the facility.
Remote work may be considered for some aspects of the job functions other than group and individual sessions.
