Job Title: Lead, Procurement Job Code: IMS20231411-108161 Job Location: Waco, TX Schedule: 9/80 Job Description: Plans and implements activities related to the procurement of raw materials, goods, and services.
Compiles and analyzes statistical data to determine feasibility of buying products and to establish price objectives.
Approves and qualifies vendors, obtains quotes, examines bids and makes awards.
Follows up on all awards through completion of order.
Negotiates with suppliers and analyzes suppliers’ operations to determine factors that affect prices and to determine lowest cost consistent with quality, reliability, and ability to meet required schedules.
Reviews proposals, negotiates prices, selects, or recommends suppliers, analyzes trends, and maintains necessary records.
May prepare request for proposals (RFP) and bid packages.
Negotiates and settles with suppliers regarding damage claims, rejections, losses, return of materials, over-shipments, cancellations, and engineering changes.
Follows applicable anti-corruption ethics, laws, and regulations.
Subject matter expert with comprehensive knowledge of job area and in-depth knowledge of project management.
Manages large, complex project initiatives of substantial importance to the organization with minimal oversight or direction.
Communicates within and outside of the organization to explain and influence changes to practices, processes, and approaches.
Makes significant improvements in processes, systems, or products.
Provides input into new products/processes and implements operational plans that have measurable impact on business or functional results.
Essential Functions: Ability to travel, if required Working extended hours, if required Previous experience with project management.
Qualifications: 6+ years experience related to the procurement of raw materials, good and services 6+ years experience negotiating with suppliers, reviewing proposals and compiling and analyzing statistical data.
3+ years experience with SAP, Serrala, and EXPO.
Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience.
Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience.
In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.
Preferred Additional Skills: Proficient in MS Office Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
