POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the supervision of the Director of Nursing, the Restorative Aide assists the nursing department in continuing therapy on a maintenance program.
ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS:
Conduct therapy maintenance programs as directed by the Director of Nursing including: assisting residents with transferring, walking and using a walker, and with range of motion activities; coordinate self-help training; coordinate or assist with other restorative functions and evaluate progress.
Document care provision as required and follow daily care plans.
Communicate with supervisor and other interdisciplinary team members regarding resident progress, problems and plans.
Participate in all required in-service education programs and assist in training and orienting other staff.
Comply with, and promote, all rules regarding residents' rights.
Function as a Certified Nursing Assistant as directed by supervisor.
Other duties as assigned.
SUMMARY OF QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be a Certified Nursing Assistant in good standing with the state.
Must be able to relate positively to residents and families and work cooperatively with other employees.
Must be able to read, write and follow oral and written directions at a level necessary to accomplish the job.
Must be capable of maintaining regular attendance.
Physical and Sensory Requirements (with or without the aid of mechanical devices): Walking, reaching, climbing, bending, lifting, grasping, fine hand coordination, pushing and pulling, ability to distinguish smells and temperatures, ability to hear and respond to pages, ability to read and write, ability to communicate with residents and personnel and ability to remain calm under stress.
Must meet all local health regulations, and successfully complete a post-offer health assessment.
Must be capable of performing the essential functions of this job, with or without reasonable accommodation.
