Burgess & Niple is looking for a Field Technician to join our team in Austin.
B&N Field Technician Responsibilities:
Assist with physical inspection of sanitary sewer systems through flow monitoring, map reading and data entry
Participate in smoke testing
Conduct manhole inspection
As part of a crew, conduct field investigation and flow monitoring to identify inflow and infiltration
Data Management
Other duties related to sanitary sewer field work
Skills & Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalent
Experience with Sanitary Sewer Evaluation Surveys preferred
Knowledge of basic mathematics, some knowledge of formulas
Ability to operate various computer programs associated with sanitary sewer study
Ability to tolerate extreme environmental conditions; work will be performed primarily outdoors
Ability to work in confined spaces and other outdoor field tasks related to the sanitary sewer study
Strong desire to learn from senior field technicians, team oriented
Strong attention to detail
Valid driver’s license with good driving record
Flexibility to travel with overnight stays up to a 100% of the time with typical workweeks Monday-Thursday (4 ten-hour days)
Ability to lift and or carry 30 pounds
NASSCO certifications and/or Confined Space Entry certifications preferred, but not required
Experience with Microsoft Office software, especially Access
Ability to use ArcReader
